“Can a computer remember something it never learned?”
I asked this question to a famous computer scientist at a conference, and he gave me no answer. He simply ignored it. Of course, I have my own answer, but I’d like to see if others think like me.
I’m waiting for answers linking “deep learning” to the concept of anamnesis in Plato and Augustine’s parable of the lost drachma. I also expect answers linking “deep learning” to Kant’s distinction between synthetic and analytic thinking.
I repeat the question in another way:
Can a Turing machine have empirical intuitions and creative imagination? If not, why?
